Ready for this year’s Dutch Design Week? Our recently opened spot in Eindhoven is
all set to host an in-store exhibition for the very first time. A new perspective on
design aims at celebrating daring design by and for young creatives—which shouldn’t
come as a surprise, as supporting and collaborating with young artists is something
we love doing.
For A new perspective on design, we have invited design researcher Anastasia
Kubrak, design duo Mandy Roos and Victoria Ledig, illustrator and graphic
designer Bien Philty, food designer Naresh Ramdjas and painter Tarek Beshta.
These artists have more in common than a passion for bright and artistic productions:
in fact, all have a clear-cut connection to the city of Eindhoven.
Rather than simply showcasing their work, we asked all featured artists to talk about
the “unusual pieces of inspiration” that led them to perform the work they do today.
In the company of their objects of inspiration, the Eindhoven-based photographer
Cleo Goossens captured all artists in a two-piece portrait. Each of her contemporary
diptychs is composed, on one side, of the artist him/herself, and on the other, by a
close capture of the unusual object.
Goossens, inspired by travel and nature, has a special eye and taste for creating a
world of serenity that materializes in photographs. She focuses on capturing people
and panoramas through which she catches a moment of silence or an endless scene. In
her shots, Goossens makes us recognize the simplicity of little details and the infinity
of small things.
Bringing together design, creativity, young talent, photography and the stories behind
all of this from October 21 until October 29, expect an inspiring and light-hearted
occasion you shouldn’t miss. The store will serve as a stage for creative talks on
Monday October 23rd, led by Os & Oos — responsible for the interior design of the
store — and La Bolleur. In the meanwhile, stay tuned and get to know all participating
artists here on our blog.
